MA Ed Tech, 2000. Way back when, BS in Electrical Engineering
About Me:
it's a long way from being a girl math nerd to where I am now!
My interest in ed tech started when I was programming some educational games, and got interested in learning. I worked for Davidson & Associates (Math Blaster) for a while. I learned a lot, in the end, felt that we were having the learning experience we were depriving the kids of.
Then I got my masters in educational technology from Pepperdine in their online masters program. The exciting part was finding that there was vocabulary and research that backed up my half-formed thoughts and feelings.
Now I work for Generation YES (http://www.genyes.com ). We work with schools all over the world to encourage student empowerment and ownership of their own education through technology. It's great fun and I get to talk to teachers, students, technology directors, and educators from everywhere.
