- I am currently enjoying teaching Information Media in a small, Quaker, not-for-profit school set waaaaay off in the countryside away from any large metropolitan area. Locals describe us as being 3 hours from everywhere (being NYC, DC, and Philly).I love being a “Specials” teacher. My classes have three strands: Literacy and Literature appreciation (K-level and up); Information and Library Skills (K-2, 3-5); and Technology (1-2, 3-5, and 6-8). I have students in small, multiage groupings.
We have a Technology Studio and believe in using it as a studio! We also have computers in classrooms, getting the best of both sides of the integration/lab debate.
I have a Master’s in Education, a history of being a librarian before becoming a teacher, and have been enjoying earning the moniker ever since I dubbed myself an accidental techie.
