My students are learning about and beginning to set up their own Social Bookmarking site like del.icio.us or Portaportal, etc. If you have an opinion about social bookmarking or one to share, we would really appreciate taking advantage of your resources.
I believe social bookmarking is great. I will be able to access my bookmarks from any location!!! Also we are able to look at what others may be finding. I am sure it will help us find great sites that we didn't find on our own.
I decided to select del.icio.us for my site because the site seemed very easy to follow. I can say I love computers, but at times it is confusing.
I chose the delicious site for my Social Bookmarking. I found it to be easy to set up and get web-sites moved into and organized quickly. This will be a helpful tool to keep my favorites where I can access them from both home and school.
I was so hesistant to try social bookmarking, which was pretty silly of me. I used bookmarks and favorites all the time and I thought this was just a fancy waste of time. However, once I started using delicious I found it to be so easy and flexible. A lot of time I will add something to my favorites/bookmarks and later forget what it is. The tag feature let me simply click on a website I wanted to save and gave me easy categories to name it, or I could create my own category. I also liked how it says how many people use that website. I am hooked, I can't wait to try the other social bookmarking sites listed. Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as me.
I have been playing around with my ning page and I really like how easy it was to set up this site. I have been playing around with myspace the past couple of months and while I enjoy the friends that I have on their page, I am also not comfortable with the large volume of spammers that are on there. I don't feel comfortable using it all that much, but ning seems to be a better program for me and I like that it seems to be a more grown up format!!
I think you have missed the point of social bookmarking. This Ning classroom 2.0 site is actually social networking. refer back to the Week 2 document: Social Bookmarking Details and Assignment Information for details.
